GlitterballNYC presents NYE 2017
Excited to be ringing in the new year with some of our 2016 favorites at Trans-Pecos, one our favorite venues!
We are more than happy to have Patrick Russell, a true veteran of the U.S. underground, on board for this one. A Detroit-bred DJ, artist, and producer who has been active since the early ’90s, he is perhaps best known as a key figure in Detroit’s legendary No Way Back parties. His ability to weave intensely unique, long-format narratives has earned him critical acclaim all around the world. He is an official resident DJ of the long-running Brooklyn party (and label) The Bunker New York.
Willie Burns is perhaps the best-known alias of longtime DJ and producer William Burnett. In addition to DJing as Speculator and producing as Black Deer, he has collaborated with fellow heavy hitters like Legowelt, Entro Senestre, Jorge Velez, Suzanne Kraft, and Secret Circuit, to name a few. Head of the widely respected WT Records, he has also been releasing music on tastemaking labels like The Trilogy Tapes, L.I.E.S., and Creme Organization. Rounding out his busy schedule of producing and playing music are hosting his weekly radio show on WTBS and managing cratedigger’s paradise The Thing in Brooklyn. A DJ set from Burnett is something to behold: Oddities and rarities are sprinkled with classics and forgotten gems.
Yugoslavia-born, Brooklyn-based Maroje T wants to mess with your mind. His experimental, deep-groove-driven sets are meant to make you dream and move. A DJ and producer with 10 years of experience, Maroje’s style can’t be easily pigeonholed. Heavily influenced by metal and punk while growing up in socialist Europe, he weaves his sets together through distorted drums and texture, moving seamlessly between dark house, techno, electro both old and
new, and classic Detroit sounds.
Amourette is an eclectic DJ pursuing emotion over one particular sound. She’s interested in spaced-out electro, broken-beat techno, psychedelic distortions, deep basslines, and indelible melodies.
Maroje and Amourette run Remedy, a series of carefully choreographed, intimate Brooklyn gatherings catering to both music heads and the dancefloor. Remedy has hosted the likes of Zenker Brothers, Recondite, Claude Young, Eric Cloutier, Echospace, Patrick Russell, and many other innovative DJs and producers.
Facets comes to Brooklyn by way of Belgrade and London, with a passion for all things techno, acid, balearic, leftfield, electro, and beyond. He recently founded Samo Records, a new label out of New York that will be exploring the darker, moodier side of electronic music, taking you from electro to EBM to cold-wave territory and all points in between. In addition to his duties as event curator and resident of glitterballnyc events, he has booked and played with some of nightlife’s greats, such as Kink, John Talabot, Man Power, Marcos Cabral, Heretic, Shawn O’Sullivan, In Flagranti, Hugo Capablanca, Gavin Russom, Tronik Youth, Moscoman, and Tunnel Signs.
