Memorial Day weekend in Detroit has long been a tradition for many techno fans, a good deal of New Yorkers included. Travel plans didn’t really work out for us the past few years, but we’re heading to Movement 2015 and super excited to finally see what all the rave reviews are about!

Although the actual Paxahau-Events-run festival runs from Saturday the 22nd through Monday the 25th, dozens of outside events are sprinkled throughout the city all day and all night before and after Movement.

In addition to its stellar 140-artist-strong lineup, this year’s festival, taking place once again in the city’s Hart Plaza, promises lots of new amenties: lockers and charging stations, free bike valets, a technology area where you can play with the latest gear, expanded food options, and an enhanced Riverfront Biergarten that features Novation’s innovative new Detroit-history-focused art installation. For more info, including 2015 festival maps and set times, visit (There’s also a sweet app you can download from the site.)

We’ve put together a handy guide to what we think are the must-sees of Movement 2015 (both festival sets and non-festival events). Check ’em out below (and yes, we know there are basically no “bad” sets/parties in Detroit, so this is not an all-inclusive list)… See you in the D! (And stay tuned for our post-festival review and photos!)

05/08/2015  Features, News Comments Off on Win 2 Tickets to Mysteryland USA Memorial Day Weekend!
Thursday nights in NYC are the new Friday nights, apparently, and a recent one in late April at Greenpoint’s Good Room made that patently clear. Norway’s oft-dubbbed “King of Cosmic Disco,” Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, weaved a sonic spell over the packed-out room, hordes of joyous Brooklynites sweating under the venue’s massive, radiant discoball. For over the decade, the Scandinavian maestro has been creating tracks that uniquely and expertly blur the lines between dance music and experimentation, unafraid to explore new musical frontiers while regularly producing irresistibly danceable results. We chatted with Lindstrøm to get some insight into his production process and news on his numerous, ecletic new projects.
