With Plant Music being one of our favorite NYC labels, we wanted to throw them some extra glitterball love and direct your attention to some pretty awesome news…

“No Social Culture” by Beto Cravioto (half of Kaviar Disco Club) and Whatever/Whatever (Justin Strauss and Bryan Mette) is destined for dancefloor greatness. Possibly NYC’s hardest-working (and tightest) DJs, Beto and Justin can be found on the decks at least several times a week — and sometimes in multiple locations over the same day. Although Justin is a prolific NYC dance music legend who has been producing and remixing music for decades (and for some huge artists, too: Depeche Mode, Beyonce, and 808 State to name a few), “No Social Culture” is Beto’s first proper release, knocking it right out of the park from the start. Fresh, hypnotic, and addictive, “No Social Culture” is out now on vinyl but available very soon digitally.

Hear the original as well as the awesome “No Social Culture” remixes from the likes of Willie Burns, Eddie Mars, and Richard Richard below:

As a bonus, Plant are offering a free download of the always stellar Whatever/Whatever’s latest mix, That NY Steez: your perfect soundtrack for summer in the city:

You can also catch Plant All-Stars a bunch of times this weekend around the city: Today at 4pm, label bosses Stretch Armstrong and Dominique Keegan (All Dom Wrong/The Glass) are joined by Plant up-and-comers Soul 2 Seoul (Turtle Bugg and [Ctrl]) at DUMBO’s halcyon the shop for Slow Disco Saturdays. Tomorrow night, Dom will play Le Bain with Rok One and Dances With White Girls for Nouveau York. See you there!

Tiki Disco at Rippers Rockaway Beach

We know Rockaway Beach is a bit of a hike from the city, but some things are well worth the hassle. (And hey, there are worse things than heading to the beach, right?) Last Sunday’s Tiki Disco at Rippers was a pretty stellar way to spend a Sunday: New favorites (“Inspector Norse” by Todd Terje!) and those classic songs you love but maybe forgot about (damn, how often do you get to hear Wham! on the dancefloor these days?) played by DJs Eli Escobar, Lloydski, and Andy Pry for something like 7 hours straight in the open air overlooking the boardwalk; tropical drinks and some tasty snacks mere feet away inside Rippers. Pretty much super good vibes all around. Reminisce or see what you missed out on with this photo gallery just posted.

(Photos by Griffin Dolan for DJ Club Network. Note: You may be prompted to “like” before viewing photos.) If you want to see a little more of what went down, stay tuned for a short video we took, and watch this space for info on future Tiki Disco beach parties — and boat parties!

In one of the most unconventional yet inspiring videos we’ve seen in ages, Adam Bainbridge — better known as Kindness — does more talking (and probably dancing) than singing or instrument-playing while subtly and simply conveying the joys of pop music to a young lad, as well as to the viewer. Already a huge favorite due to a stellar debut album (“World, You Need a Change of Mind”), Kindness will be bestowing a most beneficent gift on NYC tomorrow (Thursday, May 17) when he makes his live debut with full band at Fixed at le Poisson Rouge. The show is undoubtedly going to be something extra-special: Perhaps described best by Dave P, Kindness’ live show is “a 7 piece band with vocals, keyboards, live bass, guitar, live drums, electronic drums, and 2 female backup vocalists that sounds like everything that is rad about the past, present and future of music.” Whoa. Tezeo and JDH/Dave P will also be playing. Get all the info you need here, and grab tickets before it sells out!
