Discography: A Benefit for Japan

Yeah, we know it’s gonna be a crazy weekend — it’s early spring in NYC, plus that revered American drinking holiday, St. Patty’s Day. However, we’re highly recommending a night that favors Japan over Ireland — for a very good cause.

This Saturday, Discography — a party born out of a desire to raise funds to help those affected by the Tohuku earthquake, and a party that’s now become synonymous with amazing disco and all-around good vibes in a pretty short amount of time — is bringing in some big names to Cameo (93 N. 6th St., Williamsburg) to help raise additional funds for Japan. The stellar lineup includes: Marcos Cabral (Runaway), James Friedman (Throne of Blood), Alex From Tokyo, Bruce Tantum, DJ U.G., and, of course, resident Colin Rogister (the man behind Discography’s success). All proceeds will be going to Project Kokoro to construct a firehouse for volunteer firefighters in Yamada-machi, one of the towns hardest hit by last year’s tsunami. We’ll meet you on the dancefloor. (And no, in spite of 50% Irish heritage, we won’t be wearing green …) Get all the deets here.
