Despite what Game of Thrones promos may be telling you, SUMMER is coming — for real, and soon enough! Enjoy those lazy weekend afternoons before your Saturdays and Sundays once again become packed with barbecues, boat parties, rooftop jams, etc. etc.
We’ve got a few highlights to share before we get into the best spots to dance this weekend:
- We’re ridiculously amped for our collaboration with Fixed and WT Records at Good Room tomorrow night! One venue, two dancefloors, and so many of our favorites on the decks: Shit Robot and JDH will handle things in the big room, while a pseudo Fender Bender reunion of sorts breaks out in the Bad Room with Willie Burns, Chupacabras, and our resident Facets. (Unfortunately, Entro Senestre will no longer be able to make this one.) Grab some advance $5 tix before they’re gone and come get down with us under Good Room’s magnificent glitterballs tomorrow!
- Looks like TBA Brooklyn’s reopening has been pushed back again, sadly. If you miss the venue as much as we do, consider making a contribution to help their cause. (Want more info on the situation? Under the Sound has a nice, in-depth piece on it here.)
- Love Injection zine vol. 3 has hit the newsstands! Get all the deets on how to snag your copy here, and mark your calendars for next Wednesday’s all-vinyl release party at Kinfolk 90 with Paul Raffaele and Barbie Bertish! (We’re proud to have contributed to this awesome NYC dance music publication, too!)
- Sure it was a little on the late side for a weeknight, but damn did Erol Alkan kill it last night at Verboten! The Phantasy label head and DJ legend hadn’t graced NYC since 2012’s Mad Decent Block Party (and even that set was cut short by insane storms). Fingers crossed it won’t be another three years until a chance to have him back here — watch this space for any updates we find!
