With mere hours left in February, we’d like to invite you to look forward not only to the (probable) higher temperatures of March, but also to its amazing-music-packed nights. (And hey, Memorial Day weekend is now less than three months away!)
Before we get down to the best places to dance this weekend, we wanted to thank those of you who braved the nasty weather last Saturday to come out to our shindig at The Graham to dance to selections by Berlin’s super talented Franz Underwear (Slow Motion Records), No Frills locals Keith Edward and Raphael Ernesto, and, of course, our resident Facets. Speaking of Facets, he just made a stellar mix for Brooklyn Bass — listen and download via Soundcloud below.
A few more newsworthy items:
- Sorry, guys: Bossa is still closed… We do feel your pain, we really do. While you eagerly await news of its second coming, pass the time by reading some tips from owner John Barclay. (We did not include any of this weekend’s planned events at Bossa because the reopening date is still TBA; in the event that there is some late-breaking good news, we would highly recommend Saturday’s Industry of Machines with Echo 106, JM de Frias, and A. Arias, and Sunday’s debut of Fog Night with Marcos Cabral and Love On The Run. Friday’s planned C//TY CLUB has already been postponed.)
- TBA Brooklyn has suffered an even longer pause in operations and could use your help. Although their second fundraiser was held last night at Good Room, you can still contribute to the cause via the venue’s GoFundMe campaign.
- Just announced: Red Bull Music Academy will be bringing its monthlong series of electronic music events back to NYC this May. Watch this space for details.
- In case you missed it, check out this short documentary FACT produced on Beats in Space.
Our top dancefloor picks for the next three days are outlined below (as always, the most essential events are marked by **); you can also check out our calendar for the full list of what’s going on. Catch you under the glitterball…
