This incredibly long week is finally coming to an end… and you’ve got bunches of options for dancing all memory of it away this weekend. Before we get into our top picks for NYC dancefloors this weekend, we’ve got a few bits of news for you:
- We’re excited to get back to The Graham next Saturday (6/20) for what’s guaranteed to be a blazing hot night on the dancefloor courtesy of our resident Facets and the awesome Tunnel Signs (of Clouded Vision/Have A Killer Time/Days Of Being Wild renown). As always, expect cheap drinks, no cover, and stellar vibes all night long!
- For those of you missing that Submercer vibe, as well as others of you who never went to Submercer but just dig escaping the summer humidity to dance and drink in a cool underground space… you’re gonna love Black Flamingo (168 Borinquen Place, Williamsburg). Last weekend’s opening night, which also served as the debut of Razor ‘N’ Tape’s new monthly, was a hit, with happy faces and dancing bodies throughout the sleek, intimate space. (The upstairs restaurant/bar also stays open during parties, so you’ve got an alternate, quieter location if you need a little more breathing room or are trying to have an important conversation.) So far, the venue doesn’t plan to charge a cover, and the lineups are highly promising: Tonight’s party brings Let’s Play House with Jacques Renault and Justin Miller to the decks.
- And yes, we known we’re late on our Movement post-fest review/photo gallery, but work, illness, and some site development hiccups were obstacles this week. Thanks for your patience — will be up soon!
