Hard to believe we’re only a week away from Memorial Day weekend (a.k.a. the start of summer in everyone’s minds), but the calendar can fully attest to it: This weekend, Output’s rooftop officially opens (with Roy Ayers live, Rich Medina, and Free Magic), ReSolute throws the first boat party (with Scissor & Thread), Red Bull Music Academy’s spring edition of the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair, and more. (Don’t worry: Blink your eyes and it’s time for Tiki Disco, Mister Sunday, Select Summer Fridays, MoMA PS1 Warm Up, and hundreds of boat parties from the likes of Tiki Disco, 718 Sessions, Dope Jams/Good Room, etc. A few new very promising spots we’re hearing are opening soon in Brooklyn are going to exponentially increase your warm-weather dancing, too. It’s going to be a good summer.)
We’ll be in Detroit for Movement next weekend (and providing lots of coverage when we get back), but we won’t leave you hanging without some recommendations for your Memorial Day weekend in NYC before we go.
