Although we still feel like we’re recovering from last weekend’s stellar BEMF, it will be impossible to stay home and miss out on all the superb events scheduled for the next few days in NYC. Before we get into our top picks for the weekend, a few items of note:
- Our favorite new place for dancing (and listening, drinking, catching up with friends, etc.) Good Room has officially opened! The two-room Greenpoint hotspot has got a big one with Golf Channel Recordings tonight, and a Dubco party with DKDS, Cameo Culture, Rekles, and Harry Bennett tomorrow. Make sure to RSVP for free or discounted entry!
- WNYU’s Beats in Space (founded and masterminded by Tim Sweeney) is celebrating 15 years of bringing excellence to radio. Hot on the heels of last night’s banging BIS Boiler Room that featured sets from Eric Duncan, Justin Vandervolgen, and more, the radio show/label/tour de force will be hosting another big shindig at Cameo Gallery on Saturday with Tom Noble (who also played Boiler Room), Palmbomen II, and Sweeney himself. Get there early or, better yet, get your tickets in advance — we’re pretty sure this one is going to get packed out super fast.
- Time Warp USA has locked down a new venue for its two-day Thanksgiving festival: 39th Street Pier at 81 39th Street in South Brooklyn. The Friday line-up will feature Dubfire, The Martinez Brothers, tINI, Frank & Tony, and more, while the Saturday lineup will include Anthony Parasole, Dixon, Josh Wink
Richie Hawtin, and Sven Väth.
- Still haven’t heard about our new weekly newsletter? Sign up and make sure you don’t miss a thing: news, contests, features, and, of course, all the best events in NYC.
Our top recommendations for your weekend dancing pleasure are laid out for you below (as always, the most essential events are marked by **). Remember, we’ve always got lots more good stuff on our calendar, so never hurts to check out the full list of what’s going on. See you on the dancefloor…
